The final nominees for the Players' Voice category at The Game Awards 2025 have been announced, and Megabonk is once again absent from the list. Fans of the indie title will have to look elsewhere this year, as the community vote did not include the game.

Megabonk, developed by Vedinad, previously withdrew from the Best Debut Indie Game category in November after revealing it was not actually a debut title.

The developer had released games under other studio names before, making it ineligible for the debut category. Two weeks later, Megabonk returned to contention in the fan-voted Players' Voice category.

Despite the return, the fans have chosen other titles as finalists. This year’s nominees for Players' Voice are Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Dispatch, Genshin Impact, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Wuthering Waves.

While Clair Obscur has been a frontrunner in multiple categories, the Players' Voice award depends entirely on public votes, giving any game with an active community a chance to compete.

Vedinad responded to the omission graciously. When Bucky, Palworld’s communications director, shared on X that Megabonk would "forever be the game of 2025 to me," Vedinad replied, "My heart bleeds with you... but just know that your bonks are worth more than any game award."

The Game Awards 2025 preshow is scheduled for 4:30 pm PT/7:30 pm ET on December 11. Fans can follow the event online as the winners of the fan-voted Players' Voice and other categories are announced.

While Megabonk may not feature among the nominees, its community remains vocal, and the game continues to attract attention for its quirky gameplay and dedicated fanbase.
