Adin Ross criticises Twitch after 16-year-old streamer RaKai receives two-year ban

Adin Ross calls Twitch’s punishment of 16-year-old RaKai unfair and accuses platform of a “favouritism system”

Adin Ross has publicly criticised Twitch after 16-year-old streamer RaKai was hit with a two-year ban from the platform. The suspension notice, shared by RaKai on December 2, 2025, stated the reason as “Illegal Activities” and set the ban period until December 2, 2027.

According to the message, any further similar violation could result in escalated consequences, and monetisation would remain disabled until December 31, 2027.

In response to the ban, Adin Ross commented on the situation via X (formerly Twitter), writing: “2 year ban is absolutely outta pocket, Twitch has such a f**ked up favoritism system in place.”

He compared RaKai’s punishment to other streamers who had reportedly avoided similar consequences for far more serious accusations, highlighting a perceived inconsistency in how Twitch enforces its own rules.

The ban stems from a reported wager match in Fortnite between RaKai and fellow streamer Cody Clix. After losing with a final score reportedly 99–0, RaKai allegedly refused to pay a $6,500 payout. Clips of the interaction circulated online, prompting Twitch to apply the sanction.

RaKai, known to have over 1.4 million followers and specialising in IRL and “Just Chatting” content, has previously faced multiple shorter suspensions this year for a range of violations, including dangerous on-stream behaviour such as reckless driving.

The situation has ignited debate across the streaming community, with many viewers and fellow content creators discussing whether Twitch’s disciplinary actions are being applied fairly and consistently.
