Miley Cyrus is reportedly preparing for a reunion conversation with her former husband Liam Hemsworth, nearly five years after their divorce was finalised.

According to a source quoted by Star Magazine, the singer wants an in-person discussion to address unresolved matters from their long relationship.

Cyrus and Hemsworth were together for around a decade. They married in December 2018 but separated seven months later, with their divorce completed in January 2020. Their breakup attracted considerable public attention at the time.

The source claimed Cyrus has found aspects of their history difficult to leave behind, saying, “Liam was her first everything. She truly believed they were destined to be together, and she regrets a lot of the way things went down towards the end of their relationship.”

The source added that Cyrus wants to speak face-to-face rather than online. “Miley’s the type of person who hates having things unsaid, and she swears that’s the reason she wants to see Liam again. This isn’t something she wants to do over text.”

Hemsworth, who is now engaged to model Gabriella Brooks, is reportedly open to meeting despite previously avoiding confrontation. The source said he had “literally just ghosted her” following their split, but has now agreed to meet when he is next in Los Angeles.

Cyrus has spoken publicly about both the beginning and end of their relationship. In a TikTok post in September 2023, she reflected on the pair's first meeting while filming in 2010, noting, “It was watching two very young people fall in love with each other, which was happening in real time and real life.”

She described their connection as immediate: “So the chemistry was undeniable, and that was the beginning of a long, 10-year relationship.”

She has also discussed the moment she decided their marriage had ended, recalling a performance at Glastonbury in 2019 as the point she realised “it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship.”
