'Avengers: Doomsday' release date schedule under review alongside 'Dune: Part Three'
'Avengers: Doomsday' may move December release date considering timing of 'Dune: Part Three' and IMAX scheduling

Avengers: Doomsday could see a change to its planned theatrical release date as Marvel Studios reviews its schedule in response to competing films and cinema availability.
The film is currently set to release on December 18, the same day as Dune: Part Three, prompting reported discussions about a potential adjustment.
According to film critic and industry insider John Campea, Marvel is considering moving Avengers: Doomsday to December 11.
The possible shift follows the decision to move Jumanji 3 to a Christmas Day release, which has opened a new slot in the December schedule.
One of the key factors influencing the reported consideration is IMAX availability. Dune: Part Three is expected to secure a three-week run in IMAX theatres, while Avengers: Doomsday is not currently scheduled for an IMAX release. This has raised concerns about screen access and audience reach during the opening period.
If Marvel proceeds with an earlier release, Avengers: Doomsday could have a limited window in IMAX before Dune: Part Three takes over those screens.
The adjustment would provide a brief opportunity for premium format screenings, which have historically contributed to box office performance for major releases.
Previous Marvel films, such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, were released without significant direct competition in their opening weeks.
Online discussion has also referenced the anticipated box office competition between the two films, described as “Dunesday”.
Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed any change to the release date of Avengers: Doomsday. The film remains scheduled for December 18 unless further updates are announced.
