Zachery Ty Bryan arrested again in Oregon amid ongoing probation and assault-related issues
Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested in Oregon for a probation violation while his girlfriend faced DUII and assault charges

Former “Home Improvement” star Zachery Ty Bryan is facing legal trouble once again after he was arrested in Oregon over the weekend for a probation violation connected to his past domestic violence conviction.
Online jail records show Bryan was taken into custody Saturday in Eugene and denied bail. He is expected to remain behind bars until at least Wednesday, December 3.
Bryan has been serving a three-year probation sentence since 2023, following a plea tied to a domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright. His probation is not scheduled to end until October 2026, making this latest arrest a direct violation of its conditions.
Cartwright was also arrested Saturday and booked into the same Lane County jail. She faces five serious charges, including DUII, three counts of reckless endangering, and attempted first-degree assault. She is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
Bryan’s legal issues extend back several years. In 2020, he and Cartwright were involved in an alcohol-fueled altercation that resulted in multiple charges, though Bryan ultimately pleaded guilty to menacing. Since then, he has faced additional arrests, including a DUII in Oklahoma and an incident in South Carolina where he was accused of assaulting and strangling Cartwright.
Just days before the new arrest, Bryan told reporters he was focused on “personal growth” and taking responsibility for his past violent behavior. That statement came after a woman obtained a five-year restraining order against him in connection with allegations of physical and verbal abuse in July, though no criminal charges were filed in that case.
The latest arrest underscores Bryan’s ongoing struggles with the law and raises new questions about his compliance with court-ordered probation.
