The newly constructed modern Model Bazaar, built at a cost of Rs5 million, has entered its final stages, with finishing work progressing rapidly.
Installation of tough tiles, provision of electricity, construction of public toilets, and other essential works have already been completed.
The bazaar is expected to become fully operational within the next few days.
The project was initiated in response to growing traffic congestion and the unregulated presence of pushcarts on the city's main roads, which had severely disrupted urban mobility.
Located near the railway crossing, the Model Bazaar offers space for 123 pushcarts.
Separate sections have been planned for fruit and vegetable vendors, as well as small household-goods sellers, to ensure orderly business operations while maintaining cleanliness and convenience for the public.
During a detailed inspection of various sections of the bazaar, Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan, accompanied by Vehari Deputy Commissioner Umrana Taqveer and Mailsi Assistant Commissioner Rana Zohaib Kareem, issued directives regarding construction quality, beautification, and citizen facilities.
