Locals decry liquor shops in educational district
.

Residents of Jamshoro staged a protest on the Indus Highway against the opening of a liquor shop in the city, home to several major educational institutions.
The demonstrators, joined by political, social and religious leaders, blocked the Sehwan-Jamshoro Road, causing long queues of vehicles.
Protesters condemned the move, saying that despite objections, the Sindh Excise Department had issued a license allowing liquor sales in Jamshoro. They argued that the city hosts more than five universities and dozens of schools, with over 70,000 people engaged in education daily, yet liquor shops were being permitted in violation of public sentiment.
