Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco face family ordeal with home invasion at mother-in-law’s house
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are confronting an unexpected family incident after a home invasion at the Los Angeles residence of Blanco’s mother, Sandra Levin. The break-in occurred two months after the couple’s wedding in Santa Barbara, California.
NBC4 reported that the intrusion took place at around 9:30 p.m. at Levin’s home on Shadyglade Avenue in Studio City. Intruders entered by breaking a sliding door on the side of the property.
Levin was at home alone when the break-in began and, in an attempt to distance herself from the intruders, she ran upstairs and locked herself in a bathroom.
The intruders reportedly proceeded upstairs and opened the bedroom door to the room in which she was hiding. Levin slightly opened the bathroom door and saw the men, which appeared to startle them, causing them to flee.
She described the intruders as two men dressed in dark clothing and masks. No injuries were reported, and nothing was taken from the property.
The incident follows shortly after Gomez and Blanco’s wedding, which took place in late September 2025 following their engagement in December 2024. The ceremony was attended by around 170 guests, including family, close friends and prominent figures.
According to accounts shared with The Blast, Gomez was deeply emotional during her vows, with guests also describing the occasion as highly moving.
The couple held a rehearsal dinner at Hope Ranch with around 30 guests, among them Gomez’s long-time friend Taylor Swift. Gomez chose to be walked down the aisle by her grandfather, David Cornett, a decision that reportedly caused tension within the family.
Sources said her mother, Mandy Teefey, and stepfather, Brian, were disappointed, while Cornett and his partner were pleased by her choice.
Gomez’s relationship with her mother has faced challenges in recent years, despite periods of professional collaboration and later reconciliation.
