Customs seizes Rs81m worth of NCP vehicles

All vehicles have been seized under Customs Act of 1969 for further legal action

The Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement) Quetta successfully foiled a major smuggling attempt by seizing non-custom paid vehicles worth approximately Rs81 million. This operation comes as another step in the ongoing campaign to curb the illegal transportation of vehicles in the region.

State-run broadcasters reported that customs teams acted on a tip-off provided by the Chief Collector (Enforcement), Islamabad, raiding a warehouse located on the main RCD Highway in Mastung.

During the operation, 11 non-custom paid vehicles were recovered, including four Prius cars, two Aqua cars, one Toyota CHR (an all-electric car), one Honda Vezel, one Nissan 350Z, one Corolla Fielder, and one Prado jeep.

The broadcaster added that all the vehicles have been seized under the Customs Act of 1969 for further legal action.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has praised the timely action of the Quetta Enforcement team, restating its commitment to effective measures against smuggling, protecting the national treasury, and promoting legal trade in the country.
