Trump calls ABC reporter a ‘terrible person’ during Oval Office exchange
Trump criticizes ABC reporter during Oval Office briefing over Epstein and Saudi questions

President Donald Trump’s comment toward ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce, calling her a “terrible person and a terrible reporter”, has sparked a wave of online discussion and criticism.
The remark came during a Tuesday Oval Office briefing while Bruce asked about the Trump family’s business in Saudi Arabia and the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Trump said, “It's not the question that I mind. It's your attitude. I think you are a terrible reporter. It's the way you ask these questions. You start off with a man who is highly respected, asking him a horrible, insubordinate and just a terrible question. You could even ask that same exact question nicely. You're all psyched. Somebody psychs you over at ABC, they're going to psych it — you're a terrible person and a terrible reporter.”
He also added, “I think the license should be taken away from ABC, because your news is so fake and it’s so wrong, and we have a great commissioner, chairman, who should look at that.”
The comment quickly circulated on social media, drawing criticism from journalists, commentators, and ordinary users.
Many pointed to a pattern of Trump disparaging female reporters, citing past incidents such as telling Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey to be “quiet, piggy,” and nicknaming reporters Megyn Kelly “crazy” and Maggie Haberman “Maggot.”
Social media users described the remark as demeaning, misogynistic, and a threat to press freedom.
Some mocked Trump’s call for ABC’s license to be revoked, while others emphasized the importance of journalists being able to ask tough questions without personal attacks.
