New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was critically injured early Sunday morning in a shooting reportedly captured on video, authorities and social media reports confirm.

The 29-year-old NFL veteran was involved in a street altercation in Manhattan around 2 a.m. when gunshots rang out.

The video, posted online Monday, shows a chaotic scene with several men fighting in the streets before two gunshots are fired. At least one shot is believed to have struck Boyd in the abdomen. Emergency responders rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where his condition was later reported as critical but stable.

The NYPD released images Monday of a suspect connected to the shooting. Authorities described the individual as wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, black pants, multi-colored sneakers, and carrying a book bag. Police are actively seeking tips from the public to locate the suspect.

Boyd signed a one-year contract with the Jets in March 2025 after spending the 2024 season with the Houston Texans. He has not played for the team this season due to a prior injury sustained over the summer.

The Jets released a brief statement acknowledging the incident but declined to comment further, emphasizing that they are monitoring the situation closely.

This incident has sparked concern across the NFL community, with fans and teammates expressing support for Boyd. Authorities continue their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and bring those responsible to justice.
