Ray J has launched a new legal challenge against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, reigniting a dispute that has stretched across two decades. According to a report published by TMZ, the singer asserts that the 2003 intimate video he recorded with Kardashian was fully consensual and not leaked without her permission, contrary to long-standing public claims.

In legal documents cited by TMZ, Ray J maintains that he and Kardashian mutually filmed the tape in 2003 and later discussed releasing it in 2006. He alleges Kardashian insisted that her mother, Kris Jenner, oversee the tape’s distribution and commercial strategy. His attorney, Howard King, claims the Kardashian family “spent two decades peddling the false story that the sex tape was leaked against her will.”

The filing also references an episode of The Kardashians, in which Kardashian, Jenner, and Ye (formerly Kanye West) allegedly accused Ray J of sexual assault, revenge-porn distribution, and extortion—accusations Ray J denies. He states he previously filed legal claims over those remarks and that Kardashian, Jenner, and their production company ultimately settled with him for $6 million.

Ray J argues that a provision in that settlement prohibited all parties from publicly discussing the tape. He now contends the Kardashians violated that agreement and is seeking $1 million in damages.

This lawsuit follows months of escalating tension. Ray J publicly criticized Kim and Kris throughout 2025, at one point suggesting they could face RICO scrutiny. In October, Kardashian and Jenner sued Ray J for defamation. Their attorney, Alex Spiro, responded to Ray J’s latest filing by telling the press, “Ray J will lose this frivolous case, too,” characterizing his actions as a “disjointed rambling distraction.”
