Int'l condemnation pours in over Islamabad attack
UN chief, China and US call for perpetrators of blast, that killed 12 people, to be brought to justice

International condemnation poured in over deadly suicide attack in Islamabad, with calls for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. At least 12 people were martyred and more than 36 others injured in a suicide bombing outside the District Judicial Complex in G-11 area of Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the heinous act. “The secretary-general is deeply saddened by the reported suicide attack, and he extends his condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a full recovery to those injured,” Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Aziz Haq said in response to a question at the regular noon briefing at UN Headquarters in New York.
“The secretary-general condemns acts of violence and terrorism in the strongest terms,” the spokesperson said, reiterating that all perpetrators of terrorism must be held accountable.

In a post on X, the United States said it stands in solidarity with Pakistan in the struggle against terrorism. “Our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in today’s senseless attack,” the post read.
“We wish a swift recovery to those injured. We condemn this attack and all forms of terrorism and remain committed to supporting the Government of Pakistan’s efforts to ensure peace and stability in their nation,” it added.
China, in a post on X, condemned the Islamabad attack, and extended “deepest condolences” to the relatives of the deceased.

The United Kingdom’s high commissioner to Pakistan also expressed condolences following the Islamabad court explosion.
In a post on X, Jane Marriott advised British nationals to monitor travel guidance.

The UK government also updated its travel advice for Pakistan after the incident, stating: “An explosion has occurred in the G-11 sector of Islamabad. The local authorities are currently investigating. If you’re in the immediate area, follow their advice and monitor local media.”
Meanwhile, Turkiye’s foreign ministry said that it strongly condemned the suicide bomb attack and stood with Pakistan in its battle against terrorism.
"We wish Almighty’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to the injured in this heinous attack," the foreign ministry said in a statement, adding that Ankara stands by Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.

Separately, Qatar condemned the attacks in Islamabad and Wana, South Waziristan, which resulted in deaths and injuries. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Qatar’s firm stance rejecting all forms of violence, terrorism, and criminal acts, regardless of their motives or justifications.
Moreover, the United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the terrorist bombing in the federal capital. The UAE also denounced an attack on a cadet college in Wana, South Waziristan.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it strongly condemns these criminal acts and rejects all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten security and stability. It extended its condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Pakistan, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
