Additional District and Sessions Judge Kashif Mirza has canceled the non-bailable arrest warrant against Provincial Minister Mina Khan in a case dating back to May 9 and directed the police to submit an interim challan in the matter.
The hearing of the May 9 case at Hashtnagri Police Station resumed on Saturday, during which Mina Khan Afridi, Irfan Saleem, and other accused appeared before the court. The judge revoked the previously issued non-bailable warrants and advised the accused to exercise caution in the future.
During the proceedings, the provincial minister and other accused filed an application under Section 265 seeking acquittal. According to the petition, Mina Khan, Irfan Saleem, and others had blocked GT Road near Family Park on May 9, during which protesters reportedly pelted stones at police and damaged public and private property. The accused also allegedly opened fire on police, injuring ten officers.
Following the incident, a case was registered at Hashtnagri Police Station, and the trial against the accused began.
The court has adjourned further proceedings until November 24.
