16 die in road crashes

At least 16 people died, whereas 1,640 were injured in 1,431 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Of the victims, 670 people were shifted to hospitals, while 970 others with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams. About 75 per cent of the accidents involved motorbikes.
Rescue service data showed that 961 adult and 81 underage drivers, 178 pedestrians and 517 passengers were among the victims.
The statistics showed that 286 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 351 persons, followed by 90 in Multan with 95 victims and at 82 in Multan with 99 victims.
