Man accused of wife's murder

A man's attempt to portray his wife's murder as suicide and secretly bury her at night was foiled by the police, who took the body into custody and launched a search for the suspect.

According to the police, Aqsa Bibi, a resident of Bahiwala, filed a complaint with Millat Town Police, stating that her sister, Iqra, had been married to the accused, Liaqat Ali, for seven years. She claimed that Liaqat frequently subjected her sister to physical and mental torture.

The complainant alleged that the previous day, Liaqat brutally tortured her sister to death and then attempted to portray the murder as a suicide, claiming that she had consumed acid. The suspect then tried to bury the body hastily in the dark of night to destroy evidence and conceal the truth.

Upon receiving the information, Millat Town Police reached the scene and took custody of the victim's body, which showed clear signs of torture.

The police stated that the accused, Liaqat Ali, along with an accomplice, murdered the woman, staged it as a suicide, and attempted to bury her.
