A night meant to celebrate Oasis’ long-awaited return to the stage in Melbourne turned chaotic when a flare was hurled into the packed audience, forcing shocked fans to scatter in panic. The frightening incident occurred during the band’s headline performance on October 31, with witnesses describing the crowd suddenly illuminated in red smoke as the device burst above their heads. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The following morning, Liam Gallagher took to X (formerly Twitter) to unleash his anger in a now-viral post, addressing the culprit directly, “To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me.” The singer’s outburst drew thousands of likes within minutes, with fans largely siding with him and condemning the reckless behaviour.

Footage from the show shows the crowd cheering moments before chaos erupted, with a glowing flare suddenly flying across the venue floor. Security quickly intervened to extinguish the smoke, but the disruption briefly halted the band’s performance. One fan posted that the atmosphere shifted from “electric to terrified” in seconds, describing the act as “pure idiocy that could’ve killed someone.”

Oasis, who recently reunited for a world tour after more than a decade apart, had been drawing massive crowds across Australia. The Melbourne stop was one of the most anticipated shows of the leg, with thousands packing the arena to see the Gallagher brothers perform together again. The flare incident, however, has now overshadowed what should have been a triumphant night.

Social media erupted in support of Liam’s response, with users praising his candour. Comments flooded in, such as “Rightfully angry, could’ve ended in tragedy,” and “Imagine risking lives at a concert just for attention.” Some fans speculated that police were reviewing CCTV footage from the venue to identify the individual responsible.

While Oasis have yet to issue an official statement, insiders close to the tour confirmed that security measures will be tightened for upcoming shows. The band is expected to continue its schedule without interruption. Liam’s message, however, made it clear he intends to see the perpetrator held accountable.
