PESHAWAR:

The Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has allocated portfolios to ten provincial ministers, advisers, and special assistants, marking the formal distribution of responsibilities in the 13-member new cabinet.

According to a notification issued by the provincial administration department with the Chief Minister's approval, several key reshuffles have been made, while some ministers have been reappointed to their previous roles.

From Peshawar, Meena Khan Afridi has been assigned the Local Government Department, a portfolio previously held by Ali Amin Gandapur's cabinet under the Higher Education category. Arshad Ayub Khan, formerly Minister for Local Government, will now oversee Elementary and Secondary Education, while Fazal Shakoor Khan has been handed the Public Health Engineering Department, replacing his previous charge of Labour.

Dr Amjad Ali returns to the Housing Department, which he also managed during the tenures of former chief ministers Mahmood Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur. Similarly, Aftab Alam Afridi has once again been appointed Minister for Law and Human Rights, a position he held earlier under Gandapur's administration.

Syed Fakhar Jehan will now lead Excise and Taxation, shifting from his former role as Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, while Riaz Khan has been given charge of the Irrigation Department. Khaliqueur Rehman will head Health, previously overseeing Excise and Taxation.

Former Speaker Asad Qaiser's brother, Aqibullah Khan, has been appointed Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation, and Settlement, after having served as Minister for Irrigation. Faisal Tarkai, brother of former senior minister Shahram Tarkai, will now supervise the Labour Department, previously managing Elementary and Secondary Education.
