MTV has officially canceled ‘Ridiculousness’ after an incredible 14-year run and 46 seasons, marking the end of one of the network’s longest-running series.

Hosted by Rob Dyrdek, the viral video clip show will continue airing previously filmed episodes into 2026, but no new installments are in production.

A source familiar with the decision said the cancellation is part of MTV’s broader plan to refresh its programming lineup and focus on projects that “embrace its experimental DNA” and highlight new creative voices. The move ends a show that once defined MTV’s schedule, airing hundreds of hours weekly.

Since its debut in August 2011, Ridiculousness became a staple of MTV, offering comedic commentary on viral internet clips and wild stunts. Co-hosted by Chanel West Coast and later Lauren “Lolo” Wood, the series built a loyal following for its mix of slapstick humor and laid-back banter.

With over 1,700 episodes, Ridiculousness is one of MTV’s most prolific shows. At one point, reruns dominated more than 100 hours of the channel’s weekly lineup, reflecting its unmatched popularity but also drawing criticism for MTV’s lack of new content.

The news follows a Bloomberg report revealing that Dyrdek earned at least $32.5 million annually from the show, including bonuses and high per-episode fees. The cost, combined with changing network priorities, reportedly influenced MTV’s decision to end production.

Though the show’s cancellation signals the close of an era, Ridiculousness will continue streaming on Paramount+, ensuring fans can still enjoy its viral chaos and laughter.
