'Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorised Musical Parody' to debut off‑broadway
The Heated Rivalry full parody musical celebrates its official opening night on May 26, 2026

A parody stage musical inspired by the hit series Heated Rivalry is heading to New York City this spring, offering fans a cheeky theatrical twist on the popular hockey romance. Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody will begin an Off‑Broadway run this May, bringing the show’s characters and themes to the stage in a comedic format.
Created by writer‑composer Dylan MarcAurele, the production follows a string of sold‑out concert performances and is now formalizing an eight‑week engagement at the 6th Floor Theater in Manhattan, formerly known as The McKittrick Hotel. The parody stars Jay Armstrong Johnson as Ilya Rozanov and Jimin Moon as Shane Hollander, with a supporting cast that includes Ryann Redmond, Cherry Torres and Ryan Duncan.
The show’s original pop‑infused score, tongue‑in‑cheek humor and over‑the‑top parody elements aim to entertain audiences familiar with the series’ blend of romance, rivalry and queer love in professional sports. The production features whimsical cameos of fan‑favorite characters and leans into the steamy, heartfelt threads that made Heated Rivalry a cultural phenomenon.
After gaining traction and buzz from earlier concert runs, the full parody musical celebrates its official opening night on May 26, 2026. With choreography by Brooke and Tiffany Engen and a full creative design team handling costumes, set, lighting and sound, the production brings theatrical flair to the Heated Rivalry universe.
The parody marks one of several creative offshoots spawned by the original series’ popularity, including themed events and fan‑driven performances, and reflects the growing impact of the hockey drama beyond traditional streaming.
