Milly Alcock is preparing for her biggest career milestone yet as she takes on the role of Supergirl in an upcoming Warner Bros. production set to release this June.

Best known for her breakout role in House of the Dragon, Alcock is now stepping into the superhero spotlight, fully aware of the scrutiny that comes with it.

In a recent interview, Alcock admitted to feeling both excitement and anxiety about portraying such an iconic comic book character. She described experiencing vivid dreams symbolizing the overwhelming nature of fame, acknowledging that audience reactions are ultimately beyond her control. Despite this, she remains focused on staying authentic.

Alcock’s journey began in Sydney, where she was raised by a single mother and entered the entertainment industry through persistence and determination. Her early success in Australian television eventually led to international recognition, including roles in Netflix’s Sirens alongside Julianne Moore.

Now cast as Kara Zor-El, Alcock’s version of Supergirl explores a more personal narrative. Rather than a traditional hero arc, the character grapples with identity and emotional struggles following the destruction of her home planet. Alcock believes the story highlights resilience and self-discovery in the face of chaos.

The actress also addressed criticism surrounding superhero films, referencing comments from filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, stating that not every genre is meant to appeal to everyone.

Looking ahead, Alcock is set to appear in multiple upcoming projects while continuing to establish herself as a rising star in Hollywood.
