‘Twilight’ nostalgia overload as Mackenzie Foy poses in Bella Swan’s house for Teen Vogue

Mackenzie Foy channels Renesmee in a Teen Vogue shoot at Bella Swan’s house, bringing ‘Twilight’ magic into real life

Mackenzie Foy has turned back the clock and into the realm of vampire-romance nostalgia for her latest feature with Teen Vogue, where she revisited the very house made famous by the ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ films. The photo-shoot took place at the iconic white-clapboard residence used as Bella Swan’s home in the saga, pulling fans deep into the twilight-toned aura of Forks, Washington or at least its cinematic stand-in.

At just ten years old Foy portrayed Renesmee Cullen, the daughter of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, in the final film of the Twilight franchise. Now 24, she returns to that chapter of her career with reflective commentary on how the role shaped her life and her trajectory. In her Teen Vogue interview she admits she intentionally never read the original books, wanting to keep her own memories of the set and story unfiltered.

During the shoot she wandered through the very rooms where Bella paced, looked out of those same windows and touched the furniture fans recognise from the films. She described the house as “real” despite its cinematic aura, noting floorboards creaking and cupboards squeaking – giving the shoot an authentic domestic texture. The styling honoured the original Twilight aesthetic: vintage-inspired Converse, lace camis, skinny jeans and Wellington boots all nodded at Bella’s signature look, with Easter-egg jewellery like moonstone rings and turquoise silver pieces that referenced Bella’s mother’s southwestern influence.

Interviewing Foy, Teen Vogue asked how it felt to revisit that world. Foy replied that her affection for the franchise has grown as she has matured, and that returning to Bella’s house felt like visiting an old friend. She noted the difference in perception now compared with being a child on set, describing the scale of the production and the crew as something she only appreciates in retrospect.

This return to one of pop-culture’s most enduring fan worlds highlights how legacy properties can continue to influence actors and audiences alike years down the line. For Foy it’s not just a fond memory; it’s a bridge between her early career and the projects she is now exploring. Fans of the Twilight saga instantly recognised and celebrated the nostalgia-rich shoot, while new viewers were introduced to the idea of revisiting iconic homes and sets as part of style and nostalgia culture.

Whether this leads to further guest appearances in the Twilight universe or simply remains a one-off homage, the shoot affirms that Renesmee, or rather Mackenzie Foy, still has her place in that saga’s mythos.
