Afghan repatriation gains pace in Balochistan
Over 35,000 Afghan nationals have so far returned home from Quetta

The repatriation of Afghan refugees from Balochistan, including the provincial capital Quetta, has gathered momentum as authorities continue the third phase of the return plan.
Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Mehrullah Badini, said over 35,000 Afghan nationals have so far returned to Afghanistan from Quetta district. He added that the process is being conducted in an organized and phased manner under federal directives, with a focus on humanitarian considerations and legal obligations.
Badini noted that the pace of returns is expected to rise in the coming days, with district administrations fully mobilized to assist departing families. Facilitation centers have been established at border crossings to provide necessary support and documentation services.
Authorities report that during ongoing operations, dozens of illegal camps have been cleared, while many Afghan families are preparing to leave by selling homes and small businesses.
Local community leaders have welcomed the move, calling it a positive step toward maintaining law and order and protecting national interests. The government has assured that all efforts are being made to ensure a smooth and dignified repatriation process for Afghan citizens.
