During her An Evening With PinkPantheress show at King’s Theatre on October 24, concertgoers saw the Democratic nominee appear on the big screen holding out his palms, which read “Our Time Has Come” and “Vote Nov. 4,” referencing the city’s election day. According to Billboard, the crowd erupted in cheers as PinkPantheress responded by writing “We [Love] U” on her own hand and showing it to the audience.

The pop artist’s show marked the opening night of her North American tour and blended music with subtle political messaging. Mamdani, a progressive Democratic nominee seeking to replace outgoing mayor Eric Adams, has been active in connecting with creative communities. His appearance follows a similar moment at Lucy Dacus’ All Things Go festival performance last month, where he emphasized inclusivity, affordability, and LGBTQ+ rights in New York City.

PinkPantheress’ support for Mamdani aligns with her past political engagement. Last month, she performed at the Together for Palestine benefit concert at Wembley Arena, joining artists like Jamie xx, Damon Albarn, King Krule, Sampha, and Riz Ahmed.

Alongside the live appearance, PinkPantheress released a Halloween-themed music video for her track “Noises + JT,” part of her remix album Fancy Some More?, a reimagining of her Mercury Prize–nominated May release Fancy That?. Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, the video features the artist preparing in a gothic mansion before being playfully haunted by Miami rapper JT’s spirit.

PinkPantheress’ Brooklyn performance showcased not only her evolving artistry but also her growing engagement with political and social causes — a combination that continues to set her apart in today’s pop landscape.
