PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Opposition Leader Dr Ibadullah on Sunday blamed the provincial government for failing to strengthen police capabilities despite receiving large counter-terrorism funds, and said decisions on operations, including the Tirah operation, are approved by the provincial apex committee chaired by the chief minister.

Speaking at a Youth Parliament sitting presided over by Speaker Aazan, Dr Ibadullah said the apex committee, whose captain is the chief minister, gives formal approval for military and security operations in the province.

"The operation carried out in Tirah was also approved by the apex committee," he said, adding that the public deserves to know which party the chief minister belongs to and why certain provincial rights were not delivered.
