CM's security staff being screened
In the wake of an operation against a party facing a ban, a security screening of all personnel deployed for the protection of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been initiated.
According to sources, the screening process covers all security personnel stationed from the Sharif family home in Jati Umra to the Chief Minister's Office, as well as other supporting staff.
The move aims to ensure that no individual associated with any proscribed organisation remains part of the CM's security detail.
The sources revealed that the scrutiny is being carried out after intelligence inputs indicated potential risks linked to individuals with suspected affiliations to the banned group.
Staff members found to have any such connection will be removed from duties at both Jati Umra and the CM Office, the sources added.
The ongoing vetting is part of broader security measures following the province-wide crackdown against the proscribed outfit.
