'Emily in Paris' returns to Netflix on December 18 with its fifth season, promising a glamorous mix of romance, comedy, and culture as Emily Cooper swaps the boulevards of Paris for the piazzas of Rome.

The hit series, led by Lily Collins, teases a fresh setting, new characters, and the familiar blend of charm and chaos that has made it a global favourite. The teaser released by Netflix opens with Emily gazing at a Roman skyline, her life taking another dramatic turn.

Then, a mysterious voice-over hints at rekindled connections and romantic intrigue: "We start on a beautiful woman. She's joined by a man. It's clear they know each other." Fans quickly recognised the man as Marcello, the Italian love interest introduced in the last season.

While the narrative moves largely to Rome, Paris continues to anchor Emily's world. Filming took place across both cities, with additional scenes shot in Venice. The show's creators have promised an expanded visual canvas - from Roman ruins and Venetian canals to Parisian streets - that mirrors Emily's evolving personal and professional journey.

Lily Collins reprises her role alongside returning cast members Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, and Lucien Laviscount. New additions include Minnie Driver as Princess Jane, Bryan Greenberg as Jake, and Michèle Laroque as Yvette.

Season 5 follows Emily's relocation to Rome, where she manages her firm's Italian office while navigating her blossoming relationship with Marcello. The introduction of these new characters hints at new friendships and rivalries, as well as the continuation of the long-standing love triangle between Emily, Marcello, and Gabriel.

Season 4 ended with Emily standing at a personal and professional crossroads - torn between two cities and two loves. Creator Darren Star confirmed that while Rome takes centre stage, Emily's ties to Agence Grateau ensure that Paris remains integral to the story.

The new season offers the show's trademark mix of romance, humour, and escapist glamour. With fashion, friendship, and a few inevitable missteps, Emily Cooper's Roman holiday might just be her most stylish adventure yet.
