Umrani denies PPP-PML-N power-sharing deal

QUETTA:

Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the Balochistan Assembly, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, has dismissed reports claiming the existence of a two-and-a-half-year power-sharing formula between the PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Talking to journalists outside the provincial assembly on Wednesday, Umrani clarified that no such arrangement had ever been agreed upon between the two coalition partners.

He criticized the PML-N-led administration in Punjab, alleging that PPP legislators have been sidelined and their concerns ignored despite repeated efforts to raise them. He further lamented that the federal government has failed to allocate development funds for Balochistan, despite the province's continued political support for the coalition government in Islamabad.

Umrani added that even flood-affected families in Balochistan from the 2022 calamity had yet to receive rehabilitation assistance. About PDMA, he said the matter should be addressed by the relevant officials.
