Activist breaks barriers with UN nomination

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notices to the relevant parties and sought their responses to a petition challenging the appointment of plastic surgeon Dr Abdul Khaliq as Supervisor of the Burn Centre at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
Justice Khadim Somroo of the Islamabad High Court presided over the hearing of the petition, which had been filed by a group of doctors serving at the Burn Care Centre.
After issuing notices to the respondents, the court adjourned the hearing to a later date.
