Girls outshine boys in HSSC-I exams

RAWALPINDI:

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi on Wednesday announced the results of the Intermediate Part-I (First Annual Examination 2025), with female students once again outperforming their male counterparts.

According to official figures, 63,494 students enrolled for the exams, of which 62,020 appeared. A total of 26,951 passed, making the pass percentage 43.46 per cent, while 35,052 failed. Another 1,213 were absent, and 261 forms were cancelled for various reasons.

Out of the total candidates, 23,372 were boys and 40,122 were girls, reflecting a strong participation of female students in higher education.

All students have been promoted to second year, though those with compartment subjects will retake them alongside their next exams.

Chairman Muhammad Adnan Khan congratulated Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, Secretary Amjad Iqbal Khattak, and all staff members for conducting transparent exams and timely results. "Our commitment to transparency, professionalism, and honesty remains unwavering," he said, vowing to uphold the board's reputation and further improve systems through technology and efficient management
