Kylie Jenner’s long-speculated entry into music has finally arrived — but not without controversy. The 28-year-old Kardashians star made her official debut as a featured artist on Terror Jr’s new single Fourth Strike, released Monday night. The track marks a return of her 2014 alter ego “King Kylie,” which she used to launch her Spotify and Apple Music pages.
Jenner’s contribution to the song is brief, appearing mainly during the bridge where she whispers “King Kylie” and delivers several breathy lines such as, “I just wanna tell you, ‘I’m sorry’ / Touch me, baby, tell me I’m your baby.” Despite her excitement about the collaboration, reactions online were far from kind. Critics flooded social media, mocking her heavily processed vocals — with one X (formerly Twitter) user writing, “How embarrassing, King AutoTune,” while another posted, “Yass girl, give us nothing!”
Jenner revealed that Fourth Strike is a sequel to Terror Jr’s 2016 single 3 Strikes, which appeared in her Kylie Cosmetics lip gloss campaign. She addressed the decade-old rumor that she had sung on the original track, clarifying, “It wasn’t me (wish it was), so I had the idea to come together for Fourth Strike — and it would actually be me featured.”
The reality star, who also shared behind-the-scenes footage from the recording session, thanked collaborators JBACH, Bart Schoudel, and Capitol Records A&R VP Carter Gregory. Jenner even included a sweet clip of her children Stormi and Aire listening to the song in her SUV.
While Jenner’s debut divided listeners, it also signals her renewed embrace of the “King Kylie” persona — a nod to the era that helped define her early fame.
