Content creators Pokimane and LilyPichu have announced the cancellation of a scheduled Sweet n' Sour podcast episode featuring streamer HasanAbi, amid growing controversy surrounding his alleged use of a shock collar on his pet dog, Kaya.
In a statement shared via Patreon, the duo explained their decision to withhold the episode, which was initially set to release on Saturday. “We’ve been watching the recent drama unfold concerning our guest and it’s been getting intense,” the message read. “We had a serious talk as a crew, and we all agreed that it did not feel right uploading tomorrow’s episode at this moment in time.”

The creators emphasized that maintaining a safe and comforting environment for their audience was a top priority. “Our community is our favorite thing, and the reason we do this is to create a space that is comfy as always and a true escape. We do not want to impact the cozy atmosphere we’ve all built together,” the message continued.
News of the cancellation quickly spread across social media, with Dexerto reporting on the development via X on October 13, 2025. The post has since garnered over 240,000 views and sparked significant discussion online. Some praised Pokimane and LilyPichu for their decision, while others criticized them for not previously speaking out about HasanAbi’s past controversial statements.
The controversy in question centers around accusations that HasanAbi, real name Hasan Piker, used a shock collar on his dog. While social media users pointed to a blinking light on Kaya’s collar as evidence, Hasan has denied the claims. He explained during a stream that Kaya yelped due to accidentally injuring herself while getting off the bed, not from any shock device. He also insisted that Kaya is well cared for and “spoiled.”
You truly don't understand how bad the Hasanabi situation is.

Animal rights group PETA addressed the controversy in a public statement, saying, “Hasan Piker has denied using a shock collar on his dog, and we hope that's true because shock collars are dangerous and downright cruel.” The organization urged pet owners to rely on positive reinforcement methods instead.
