
Three women, including a mother-daughter and cousin, were killed while a young man was injured when a speeding car overturned after hitting the footpath near Star Gate on Sharae Faisal early Sunday morning.
According to police, the car (registration number BGQ-469) was heading from Drigh Road towards Malir when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to crash into the pavement and overturn onto the opposite lane. Rescue teams shifted the injured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where two women later succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Asma, her 19-year-old daughter Muntaha, and 22-year-old cousin Faryal Shayan - all residents of the Liaquat Market area in Malir. The injured, identified as Owais, is under treatment.
Police said the car was completely wrecked in the crash, which is believed to have been caused by overspeeding. The bodies were handed over to the families after legal formalities, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
Man dies in hit-and-run near Do Talwar
A tragic traffic accident near Clifton's Do Talwar area claimed the life of an unidentified man, approximately 45 years old. According to police, the man was critically injured after being struck by an unidentified vehicle. He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital via ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Police officials stated that no identification documents or personal items were found on the deceased to help establish his identity. Following legal formalities, the body was transferred to the morgue.
