A tragic incident unfolded in the jurisdiction of Humak Police Station, Model Town, where a young man shot his female co-worker after a brief argument inside a private restaurant and then turned the gun on himself. The woman sustained critical injuries and died while being taken to the hospital.
According to police officials, the deceased were identified as Mehran Asghar, a resident of Kahuta, and the female victim, a resident of Gujar Khan. Both were factory employees and had gone to the restaurant with another female colleague.
As stated in FIR 976 of 2025 registered at Humak Police Station, the three were dining together when a verbal dispute erupted between Mehran and the woman. In a fit of rage, Mehran drew a pistol, shot her, and then fatally shot himself.
Eyewitnesses immediately alerted Rescue 1122 and police. Emergency responders shifted the injured woman to Polyclinic Hospital, but she succumbed to her wounds en route. Police recovered the pistol from beside Mehran's body and collected identity documents from the scene.
The third woman, who fled in panic after the shooting, will have her statement recorded during the investigation. Officials confirmed that the bodies were handed over for post-mortem examination.
