Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty has become one of Amazon Prime Video’s biggest successes to date, reaching 70 million viewers within 70 days of its premiere, according to Amazon MGM Studios.

The milestone, recorded a week after the season finale on September 17, represents a 65% increase compared to the 70-day total viewership of Season 2 in 2023. Amazon also reported that viewership for the third season grew steadily throughout its release window, peaking with the finale’s debut.

The series, created by Jenny Han and based on her best-selling novels, continues to dominate among younger demographics. Among women aged 18 to 34, Season 3 became Prime Video’s most-watched television season ever. The show also demonstrated strong international appeal, with 60% of its audience located outside the United States — particularly in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Brazil. From its July 16 premiere through the finale, the romantic drama ranked as Amazon’s top global title, holding the No. 1 position in more than 140 countries.

Following the success of Season 3, Amazon announced that The Summer I Turned Pretty would conclude with a feature film adaptation, offering fans one final return to Cousins Beach.

In a statement shared with Variety, showrunner and author Jenny Han reflected on the show’s global resonance: “When I first wrote The Summer I Turned Pretty 17 years ago, I could never have imagined it would connect with so many people around the world. To see the story come alive on screen and spark such passion has been a dream come true.”

Han added that she was grateful to the cast, crew, and Prime Video for their continued support, describing the third season’s success as “nothing short of magical.”
