Netflix’s Stranger Things is gearing up for its fifth and final season, and fans may be in for longer episodes than ever before.
According to Puck News, all season 5 installments are expected to run over an hour, with some episodes potentially reaching 90 to 120 minutes.
To accommodate the extended runtimes, Netflix plans to release the season in three parts.
The first batch of four episodes is scheduled for November 26, followed by three episodes on Christmas Day, and the season finale on New Year’s Eve. All episodes will premiere during primetime at 9:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm PT.
Season 5 is also reported to have one of the largest budgets in the show’s history, with a reported $400 million allocated to production. This reflects Netflix’s continued focus on cinematic visuals and ambitious storytelling.
The combination of longer episodes, a large production budget, and a staggered release schedule indicates that the streamer is positioning the final season as a major holiday event.
