Dolly Parton is reassuring fans that she’s doing just fine after recent concerns about her health sparked online speculation.
The country legend posted a lighthearted video from the set of a Grand Ole Opry commercial, telling fans, “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!”
She admitted she’s been “a little under the weather,” but emphasized that she’s recovering and far from done performing.
Parton’s response came after her sister, Freida Parton, asked fans to pray for her earlier this week, writing that Dolly hadn’t been feeling her best.
The post quickly led to rumors that the 79-year-old singer was seriously ill. Freida later clarified that her message was misunderstood, saying Dolly was simply resting and “doing much better.”
In her video, Parton revealed that a kidney stone infection had slowed her down and that she had postponed several Las Vegas residency dates to focus on treatment.
“I had a little health scare, but I’m fine now,” she said. “I just needed a bit of time to take care of myself for once.”
Still smiling and joking throughout the clip, Parton ended with her signature humor and optimism: “I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God’s through with me, and I ain’t done working.”
Parton’s postponed shows are expected to be rescheduled for late 2026, with the singer assuring fans she’ll be “back on stage before you know it.”
