HasanAbi (Hasan Piker) recently addressed allegations that he used a shock collar on his dog, Kaya, following a viral clip from his October 7, 2025, Twitch livestream.
In the video, viewers saw Kaya yelp after moving off her designated spot, which led to widespread criticism from figures like Ethan Klein and xQc, who accused him of animal cruelty.
In a follow-up video, HasanAbi clarified that the device in question was not a shock collar but a multifunctional smart collar.
He demonstrated its features, which include vibration mode for communication or training, AirTag integration for tracking Kaya’s location, a flashlight for low-light conditions, and an audible sound to get Kaya’s attention when needed.
HasanAbi emphasized that the collar does not administer shocks and is designed for safety and convenience.

The incident sparked a divide online. Some, like streamer Anisa Jomha, defended HasanAbi, stating that she had met Kaya and never saw a shock collar on her.
Others, including Ethan Klein and xQc, remained unconvinced, with Klein calling the behavior "deeply psychopathic" and xQc accusing HasanAbi of "gaslighting" viewers. As of now, there is no official investigation confirming the allegations of animal cruelty.
