A new 30-bed state-of-the-art cardiology ward has been made operational at Benazir Bhutto General Hospital.
The facility was inaugurated by Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry.
Speaking to the media after the inauguration, Barrister Chaudhry said the renovation of the cardiology ward has been completed.
Out of 30 beds, 10 have been allocated for the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
The ward is equipped with modern medical equipment to ensure timely treatment and first aid for heart attack patients.
He said that Benazir Bhutto Hospital, one of the largest in Rawalpindi with nearly 1,000 beds, caters to around 3,000 patients daily.
Barrister Chaudhry stated that Punjab has always led in development and healthcare, and projects for the welfare of patients will continue.
The new cardiology ward, he said, was a much-needed addition given the heavy patient load, including dengue cases.
He added that free medicines are being provided to patients under the Punjab government's initiative.
Referring to the national economy, he said Pakistan's economic indicators are improving, and the country is regaining global recognition.
"When we are in power, we always work for Pakistan's progress," he remarked.
The parliamentary secretary also appreciated the efforts of Medical Superintendent Dr Sharjeel Sarfraz Sheikh for his dedication to providing quality healthcare and for being actively engaged in patient welfare.
