Taylor Swift has weighed in on the long-running fan debate surrounding The Summer I Turned Pretty — but in true Swift fashion, she managed to stay diplomatic. During an interview with Ryan Seacrest on October 7, 2025, for On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the Life of a Showgirl singer was asked by co-host Sisanie whether she sides with Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah, the two love interests in the hit Amazon Prime series.
Rather than picking between the brothers, Swift offered a thoughtful and characteristically poetic response. “I’m Team Summer I Turned Pretty,” she said. “This show has used my music in the most thoughtful, beautiful ways during these important moments in Belly’s life. I’m here for whatever is next. I support her choices, girl.” Swift went on to explain that she feels her songs reflect Belly’s emotions, adding, “I feel like my music comes from inside her mind, so I’m really with her no matter what she goes with.”
Her answer quickly drew praise from both fans and the show’s creator, Jenny Han, who shared the interview clip on her Instagram Story, seemingly endorsing Swift’s sentiment.
Swift’s music has been a defining feature of The Summer I Turned Pretty, with several of her tracks — including “This Love,” “August,” and “Back to December (Taylor’s Version)” — featured in key emotional moments across the show’s first two seasons. The collaboration has helped deepen the emotional tone of the series, which follows teenager Belly Conklin’s journey through love, family, and self-discovery.
By staying “Team Belly,” Swift managed to avoid the fandom divide while reaffirming her creative connection to the show. Her diplomatic response, both genuine and media-savvy, once again highlighted why she remains a master of balancing artistry with relatability.
