The Rawalpindi Development Authority has merged the departments of Housing Schemes, Master Planning, Land Use and Building Control into three zones.
Director Town Planning One, Director Town Planning Two and Director Town Planning Three will be in charge of their respective zones.
For the first time, the RDA will make an unusual administrative arrangement. After taking notice of the monitoring of private housing schemes and other illegal measures, the directors of the three zones were tasked with taking legal action.
At present, several posts of Director and Deputy Directors are currently vacant in the RDA, which are being worked on under additional charge. The RDA does not have a governing body, a forum authorised to take important decisions, which includes MPAs and officers from various departments of the provincial government.
