Trade organisations form joint action committee
Two traders' organisations of Rawalpindi Cantt, Markazi Tanzeem Tajaran and Markazi Anjuman Tajaran, signed a five-year long extendable agreement under the name of Charter for Protection of Traders' Rights Rawalpindi Cantt, and announced a 14-member joint action committee to implement the 11-point agreement.
The committee was formed to resolve the issues faced by traders, including the conversion of Bank Road into a vehicle-free street, which traders claim has shut down businesses because of the lack of parking spaces.
In a representative gathering of traders at the large business centre, Gakhar Plaza, President of Markazi Tanzeem Tajaran Cantt Registered, Zahid Bakhtawari and President of Markazi Anjuman Tajaran Cantt, Mushtaq Khan signed the 11-point agreement, formally creating the Joint Action Committee.
The traders' representatives announced their support for the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mian Pervez Aslam Group.
