The official trailer for Die, My Love, the highly anticipated psychological thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, has been released ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on November 7. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin, You Were Never Really Here), the film adapts Ariana Harwicz’s intense 2012 novel of the same name.
Lawrence and Pattinson portray Grace and Jackson, a young couple who move with their newborn from New York City to a remote home in Montana—previously owned by Jackson’s uncle. As Grace begins to struggle with postpartum depression, the isolation of rural life intensifies her emotional unraveling, threatening both her mental health and the foundation of her marriage.
Co-written by Ramsay, Enda Walsh, and Alice Birch, the film delves into themes of motherhood, mental illness, and emotional alienation. Produced by MUBI, with Martin Scorsese serving as executive producer, Die, My Love marks the first collaboration between Lawrence and Pattinson—both of whom rose to fame in the YA franchise era with The Hunger Games and Twilight, respectively, before transitioning into more complex, independent roles.
The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a six-minute standing ovation. Critics especially lauded Lawrence’s intense performance, with early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes giving the film a 78% approval rating. Lawrence has shared that she drew on her personal experiences of motherhood to portray Grace’s psychological descent, describing it as rooted in “extreme anxiety and isolation.”
The supporting cast includes LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek. With Ramsay’s signature visual style and psychological depth, Die, My Love is shaping up to be a harrowing but powerful exploration of inner turmoil and strained intimacy.
MUBI reportedly acquired the distribution rights for $24 million, underlining its confidence in the film’s artistic and commercial potential. Watch the trailer below.
