Whose diamond wins? Lauren Sánchez and Gerogina Rodríguez flaunt multimillion-dollar rings at front row

Lauren Sánchez and Georgina Rodríguez flaunt multimillion-dollar diamond rings in a Paris Fashion Week showdown

Paris Fashion Week is often about the clothes, but at Balenciaga’s spring/summer 2026 show on Saturday night, all eyes drifted to the front row. Lauren Sánchez and Georgina Rodríguez found themselves in what fans are calling a “battle of the rocks” after both women flaunted their multimillion-dollar engagement rings in matching all-black looks.

Sánchez, 55, arrived with her new husband Jeff Bezos and made her enormous oval-cut diamond the star of her outfit. Designed by celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, the ring was first revealed during the couple’s lavish wedding week in Venice in June. Experts estimate her sparkler could weigh up to 45 carats and may be worth more than $6 million, thanks to its flawless clarity and rarity.

Sitting alongside her was Georgina Rodríguez, who also turned heads with her dazzling jewellery. The 31-year-old model, who recently became engaged to football legend Cristiano Ronaldo after eight years of dating, wore a pair of glittering rings worth a combined estimated $5 million. Her centre stone, an oval-cut diamond given to her by Ronaldo in August, is believed to be over 30 carats in size and among the most coveted stones of its kind.

Together, the two engagement rings were said to be worth as much as $12 million, sparking an online frenzy. Social media users joked about the fashion show turning into a jewellery competition, coining phrases like “battle of the rocks” and “battle of the bands” to describe the dazzling display. Photos of Sánchez and Rodríguez seated side by side, each subtly angling their hands towards the cameras, quickly went viral.

While Balenciaga’s dramatic collection drew its share of headlines, it was the sparkling competition between Bezos’ wife and Ronaldo’s fiancée that stole the spotlight. Fans debated which ring was more impressive, with some praising Sánchez’s “Hollywood spectacle” of a diamond while others admired Rodríguez’s “timeless elegance.”

Whether intentional or not, the front row turned into a glittering showdown, proving that in Paris, even the accessories can outshine the runway.
