Actor Jason Sudeikis made a surprise appearance at the NFL’s international game in London on Sunday, drawing attention and delighting fans with a real-life nod to his beloved character, Ted Lasso.

Sudeikis was spotted in the crowd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Cleveland Browns, the third of seven NFL international games scheduled this season. It marked the Vikings’ second consecutive overseas appearance, following their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin on September 28.

During the broadcast on NFL Network, cameras captured Sudeikis greeting NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, a moment that quickly went viral on social media. Fans online were thrilled to see the Ted Lasso star at a football game — albeit one that plays a different kind of football.

“YOOOOOO TED LASSO!!!!” one fan posted on X, while another joked, “Ted, that’s the wrong football!” Others praised the unexpected moment, with one user commenting, “Roger met the only man who could make NFL pressers actually funny.” Another fan wrote, “Ted Lasso vibes in real life. Jason Sudeikis greeting Commissioner Goodell in London is pure gold.”

Sudeikis, known for being an avid sports enthusiast, is often seen at NBA, WNBA, and football games in the U.S. His presence at the London NFL game held extra significance given that Ted Lasso is set in the UK and filmed largely in and around London during its three-season run on Apple TV+. The show concluded in May 2023, but rumors continue to circulate about a possible fourth season that could follow Lasso as he coaches a women’s soccer team.

As for the game itself, the Vikings edged out the Browns with a 21–17 victory, marking quarterback Dillon Gabriel’s professional debut.

Sudeikis’ appearance brought a lighthearted and nostalgic touch to the international event, blending Hollywood charm with NFL action on a global stage.
