Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel discuss possibility of more 'Gilmore Girls' episodes
Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel have reflected on whether they would return for more Gilmore Girls episodes following the Netflix revival A Year in the Life.
Speaking to E! News, Graham said she would “play this character given any opportunity”, while Bledel emphasised that any continuation would depend on the story and timing.
The pair reunited publicly at the 2025 Emmys to mark the show’s 25th anniversary, sparking fan calls online for another season.
Viewers commented on Gilmore Girls’ official social media pages, urging a follow-up to the 2016 revival, which ended with Rory revealing she was pregnant.
Graham suggested she would be open to returning if creator Amy Sherman-Palladino wanted to explore more stories in Stars Hollow.
“Lorelai and Luke got married. Now, Rory’s maybe having a baby, so it’s not going to be necessarily the two of us circling the gazebo,” she said, adding that a Christmas-themed episode could be a natural next chapter.
Sherman-Palladino responded that there were currently “no talks” about extending the story but described Graham’s idea as “very cute.”
Her husband and co-writer Daniel Palladino said they were always thinking about new ideas for Stars Hollow, though nothing was in development.
Bledel, meanwhile, told the Television Critics Association in 2017 that the revival “really seemed like the right thing” and that any future instalment “would be about the story and certainly the timing.”
For now, both stars seem content to leave the beloved mother-daughter duo where they are, though Graham admitted, “If somebody calls me to do it, I’ll do it.”
