Woman held for killing minor boy

Suspect covered child's mouth with cloth before using blade to inflict cuts on his body

MAILSI:

Police solved the murder case of the minor boy Abdul Hadi, just 12 hours after his body was found in a maize field. The culprit turned out to be his real aunt, who confessed to the crime during interrogation.

DSP Mailsi Saeed Ahmed Sial revealed this in a press conference on Friday.

DSP Mailsi Saeed Ahmed Sial, along with SHO Karam Pur Police Station Shehzad Amin and Investigating Officer Inspector Qasim Khan, told the press that the minor Abdul Hadi, who was killed in Soru Sani was murdered by his aunt, Najma Bibi.

The victim's father Muhammad Imran and his two brothers lived together in the same house. When the men left for work, the child's aunt, Najma Bibi, took Abdul Hadi with her to a nearby maize field and strangled him to death. Fearing that the child might survive and raise an alarm, she tied a cloth over his mouth and then used a blade to inflict cuts on various parts of his body.

After killing him, she left the body in the field and returned home, joining the family in the search so that no one would suspect her involvement. Police said that Najma Bibi believed that Abdul Hadi's mother had cast black magic on her, due to which her own children either died shortly after birth or were born prematurely and did not survive. According to police sources, two of Najma Bibi's newborns had already died in the past, and she is currently six months pregnant.

DSP Sial further stated that Abdul Hadi had gone missing a day earlier and was later found dead in the fields. Based on evidence, human intelligence, and investigative resources, the police arrested Najma Bibi, who confessed to the crime during interrogation.

He added that under the supervision of DPO Vehari Muhammad Afzal, the investigation team worked tirelessly and, with the help of modern technology, solved the murder case within 12 hours, successfully arresting the accused.
