Missing German tourist rescued

66-year-old expresses gratitude for professionalism of Naran police

A German tourist who had lost her way while hiking in Naran was successfully rescued by police following a determined six-hour search operation on Thursday.

According to local police, a group of seven German nationals had arrived in Naran for sightseeing. Late in the evening, authorities were informed that one member of the group, 66-year-old Caron N Millark, had failed to return to her hotel after setting out on a hike.

Acting swiftly on the report, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Mansehra, Shafiullah Gandapur, issued immediate instructions to launch a search operation.

The Naran police quickly mobilised two separate teams, each dispatched along different potential routes to locate the missing tourist.

Following nearly six hours of tireless effort and coordinated search activity, the woman was located safe and well, and subsequently escorted back to her hotel.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Shafiullah Gandapur said, "Tourists are our valued guests. The Mansehra Police remain fully committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both domestic and international visitors. We extend a warm welcome to all those visiting the idyllic valley of Naran, and providing them with a peaceful and secure environment is our foremost priority."

The rescued tourist expressed her gratitude for the prompt response and professionalism of the Naran police, remarking, "After I lost my way, the police located and rescued me in a timely and reassuring manner. I am sincerely thankful to the Mansehra Police for their swift assistance."
