Two get life sentence for killing policemen

ATC's conviction order declared Saddique Walhari as proclaimed offender

HYDERABAD:

Four years after two cops were gunned down and as many were injured in a police raid on a criminals den in Thatta district, the Anti Terrorism Court Hyderabad on Tuesday convicted two accused persons to life imprisonment.

The judge Nadeem Ahmed Akhound after a thorough trial found Raza Muhammad Naich and Sikandar Ali Shah guilty of killing Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sakhi Muhammad Murghar and police constable Ali Nawaz Channar.

DSP Ghulam Rasool Siyal and SHO Mumtaz Brohi were injured in the same incident whose FIR was registered at Gharo police station in August, 2021, on the state's complaint. The ATC's conviction order declared Saddique Walhari as proclaimed offender besides also referring to the deceased accused Sardar Sadoro Walhari, Dr Naeem Akhtar and Sultan Palijo, as the co-accused.
