
The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) has announced that the 44th National Kabaddi Championship will be staged from October 1 to October 5 at the Punjab Stadium, Nishtar Park, Lahore.
The five-day event will feature 12 teams, including Army, WAPDA, POF Wah, Navy, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Air Force, HEC, and Railways. Sponsored by Bank Alfalah and Tapal Tezdum, the championship has Trans Group as its official commercial and broadcast partner, ensuring wide-scale coverage across TV and digital platforms.
Speaking about the championship, PKF President and Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Auqaf, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, said:
“The National Kabaddi Championship is not just a tournament, but a celebration of our cultural heritage and sporting spirit. We are committed to promoting Kabaddi at the highest level, and this championship provides a vital stage for emerging and established players to demonstrate their talent and bring pride to Pakistan.”
Group Director Trans Group, Rao Omar Hashim Khan, emphasized the importance of the event, stating:

The 44th edition of the National Kabaddi Championship promises high-octane competition, cultural vibrancy, and a platform for both seasoned and upcoming players. With extensive broadcast coverage, the PKF aims to further popularize the traditional sport and inspire future generations of athletes.
The opening day on October 1 will see four matches: WAPDA vs Sindh at 11:00 am, PAF vs Railways at 12:30 pm, Balochistan vs POF Wah in the third match, and HEC vs Navy at 3:30 pm.
The tournament is expected to draw large crowds and highlight Kabaddi’s growing presence on both national and international stages.
